Heritage Patch

This year is the 100th anniversary of girl scouts. To celebrate we are working on the heritage patch and learning all about the history of scouting. Today we took our daisy troop to camp Bothin in Fairfax to the girl scout museum. The girls were excited to see all the old uniforms and memorabilia. We ended our day with a short hike to see where the fairies live.

Roses has returned

Some children have imaginary friends, Mackenzie has an imaginary horse. Her name is Roses and she has been away but this morning she reappeared in the middle of breakfast. Apparently she had a craving for oatmeal and strawberries. Mackenzie was very surprised to discover that her horse had a love for oatmeal and ate most of the bowl. This afternoon when Mackenzie and Roses came home from school I asked Mackenzie to draw a picture of Roses for me so that I might get photo. Its very hard to capture these imaginary friends with your camera.

Roses has been growing out her tail

Casino Night

Tonight was the annual Gala for Mackenzie's school. This years theme was Casino Night and it was held at the Marin Country Club. We all piled into the Lum's mega-fun mini van and headed out for some much needed adult time. We had fun playing wine ring toss and black jack with dolphin dollars. We weren't the big winners of the night, but we did walk away with two bottles of wine.
