Daisy Gardening Project

Today our Daisy troop headed to Bothin Organic Garden to complete our community action project for our journey. The girls planted rows of lettuce for the girl scout summer camp. The camp will use the lettuce in the kitchen to feed the girls this summer. After we planted we had a picnic lunch and read a story from our journey book and then took a hike to visit the fairies.

Father Daughter Dance

One of our fundraisers for San Ramon this year was the Father Daughter Dance. I signed up Kenzie and Jim to go and they were both very excited. I wasn't allowed to go but the report I got was that Kenzie loved the dancing and wanted to dance to every song. Daddy was also happy to dance and knew all the songs!

Art & Science Night

Tonight we headed to Mackenzie's school for an art and science night. It was held in the all purpose room and there were stations set up with different activities. We started by visiting Miss Colonna and the top making station. Then we had with spin art and painting flowers. Finn's favorite was the flower print station. He got to use the hammer and smash the flowers onto fabric to make a print. It was fun night for everyone.

Time for school!

So its a little old fashioned, but very cute that our school still uses a hand bell to signal the start of school. Today it was Kenzie's turn and she took her job very seriously!

Mismatch Day

This week was spirit week for Kenzie's dance school. Her class was mismatch day. Kenzie had fun coming up with a crazy outfit and accessorizing her hair.

Happy 30th birthday Levi

This year Levi turned 30 and he celebrated with a German themed party. Today Anne and Levi continued the party with us. They showed up in their German attire with ingredients to make pretzels and sausages for a game called " wurst schnappen!" This entailed mini sausages on a string dangling in the air. The object is to try and eat them off the string. A very silly game, but very entertaining to Finn and Kenzie. After all the sausages were gone the kids made pretzels and then we ate a Bavarian feast. We ended the night with what else but...German chocolate cake. Happy Birthday Levi!

Birthday Party Fun

Finnegan got invited to a birthday party today for his friend Kyle. It was a superhero themed party with a batman bounce house. This was the first time Finnegan has gone to a party without us, but luckily we knew a lot of the other families there and he did great. He came home very excited with a big smile and a new cape!

Palace of Fine Arts

This week Jim's cousins Joy, Janel and Chrissy are in town from Syracuse, so we headed to the city for a visit. We met up at the palace of fine arts and took a walk together enjoying the property and looking for swans. Our next stop was to the Presidio for a walk on the beach and views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Then we headed into sports basement for a little shopping (one of my favorite stores). We ended our afternoon driving up into the headlands. It was a short visit, but fun to catch up with Jim's family and introduce them to our crew.

Easter Sunday

This morning we started off our Easter Sunday by checking out what goodies the Easter bunny brought us. This years theme was summer. Lots of sand toys, side walk chalk and goggles for the pool. After everyone was dressed we headed outside for an egg hunt. We thought this would be fun and less intimidating for Emersyn. She was unsure at first but once she quickly caught on. She started picking them up and handing them to Jim to open. She ate her way around the yard one egg at a time. Lucky for us we filled hers with goldfish. After our egg hunt we headed to the Hilltop restaurant for brunch. There were eggs hidden along the path to the restaurant, so we got to have another little mini hunt. It was the perfect way to spend our Easter together.

Time to dye easter eggs

Tonight we pulled out the Easter egg kits and hard boiled some eggs. Mackenzie picked a tie dye kit and Finn picked a glitter/sparkle kit. We all had fun taking turns with the tie dye, especially Daddy! We decided to keep Emersyn away from the eggs this year. She was happy to play with a cup full of ice in her chair and watch everyone.
