Nicasio Pumpkin Patch

Today the sun was back out and we were excited to head to the pumpkin patch. It was a Monday afternoon so we had the place mostly to ourselves. Mackenzie played in the bounce house until near exhaustion and then we headed for a hay ride. Finn was excited to sit on tractor and check out the gears. After our ride we headed over to the pumpkins to pick out the perfect pumpkin for Daddy. 

Rainy Day

Today we were supposed to head to a pumpkin patch but the weather had other plans. It was our first rainy day since we moved to California. We stayed inside all day and tried to keep the kids entertained with art projects and movies. By the afternoon everyone was going stir crazy so we put on our rain gear and headed out for a walk.

Ruffle Butt

I love picking out clothes for the kids to wear, especially the girls.  I love all the cute newborn outfits and the more ruffles the better!

Man and his grill

Jim is the grill master of our house. We have an old grill that our large family has outgrown, so we decided a new grill would be the perfect birthday gift for Jim. This morning we headed to Sears and found the perfect grill on clearance. One screwdriver and a pair of pliers later and we were able to get the grill into the back of the van. Jim was very excited to ride home in the back seat with his new toy. He was even more excited to cook up some barbecue chicken for everyone.

 

A trip to the Zoo

Today was our last day with the Baysden girls. We decided to spend the afternoon at the San Francisco Zoo. Our first stop was the petting farm. The kids were excited to walk through this area and feed the farm animals. Finn was really excited about the ride on tractor. After the zoo we headed for the airport. Kenzie cried, Paige cried, even Finn cried a little. The only one who was ready to go was Emalee. I think she was done with Finnegan. Before we could leave the airport all three Malcolm children were asleep. We had a great visit and were glad to introduce Miss Emersyn to the Baysdens. We miss them already and can't wait for their next visit.

Imagination Play

Mackenzie is 4 1/2 and has a great imagination. She loves to make up stories and different names for things. She likes to pretend her brother is a puppy and call him "Rocks". He crawls around on his paws and follows her wherever she goes. Sometimes she even has him fetch things. Other times she pretends that he is her husband and his name his "Steve".
Today we decided to go to a place called Jack and Jill's. It is an indoor play place that specializes in imagination play. Paige and Kenzie spent most of the time playing in the veterinary center, while Finn and Emalee were busy at the train and truck tables.

Adobe Pumpkin Patch

Today we headed to Petaluma for some fall activities in the not so fall weather. It was 80 degrees and sunny today, a little warm for hot apple cider. We started off walking through the pumpkins and then took a pony ride. Finn was excited to check out all the tractors and take a hay ride. He waved to every tractor he saw and said "Hi tractor!".  The only thing missing from our day was cider donuts.
