Memorial Day

Today was Memorial Day and the kids were off from school. We have been wanting to take the kids to Howarth Park, so we headed to Santa Rosa with Grammi and the Lum's for a picnic and some playtime. They had a section of the park with a train, jumpy house, carousel and pony rides. Grammi bought the kids tickets and they had fun going from ride to ride. Jim took Emme on the carousel for the first time and she was not impressed! She did enjoy going in the jumpy. Everyone's favorite was the digging machine, especially Daddy. He helped everyone take at a turn at this.

Sunday Fun

Today we headed to Limantour beach with Grammi, Levi, Anne and the kids. Durham even got to tag along to play. We had a picnic, flew kites, played a little Frisbee and even built a sandcastle. It was a great family day.

The Circus

Grammi is here for a visit and today we headed to San Rafael and meet up with some of our friends to see the circus. Its a small production hosted by the local rotary club so they were all small acts but it was still a fun and inexpensive outing. My favorite was the girl with 20 hula hoops, Finn liked the flames and of course Kenzie liked seeing the ponies. I didn't get very good pics since it was so dark under the tent but here's a few.

Kastania Vineyards

In March I bid on a silent auction item for Kenzie's school fundraiser. It was a private tour and tasting for 6 at Kastania Vineyards in Petaluma. Well I won the item and thought it would be the perfect outing for me and my girlfriends. We decided to make a day of it. We started our day at Girl and the fig for cocktails and lunch on the back deck. Then we headed up to B.R. Cohn to sample some wine and olive oils.

After B.R Cohn we made our way to Kastania Vineyards. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners Linda and Hoot. Who is Hoot you ask, he's a "Hoot"! This guy had us in stitches from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left. They took us into the barrel room gave us samples right from the barrels, fed us lots of yummy snacks and told us all about the wines. Then we sat out on the patio and enjoyed the sunset eating more yummy snacks and trying all their different pinots. Everyone loved the wine and we all had to bring home at least one bottle.

After our tasting we decided we weren't ready to head back to reality yet so we stopped for a little Mexican food and pina coladas at Las Guitarras. This was such a fun day with the girls and so many fun memories. We need to plan more "Mommy" outings!

GS Tea Party

Tonight we completed our daisy flower garden journey and celebrated with a garden tea party. All the girls came dressed in their best party dresses and accessories. We read the final story in our journey, passed out awards and then sat down to tea.  Our host made mini sandwiches, pink cupcakes and different teas for the girls to try. They all decided they would rather drink lemonade, but wanted it in a tea cup. Everyone had a fun evening.
